Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)

Begin standing in straddled position, feet approximately 3 ft. or slightly more apart. Engage gently thighs & knees, square pelvis, lift thorax, release shoulders.

Place both hands on hips. Turn left foot 90 degrees & right foot inward just a bit. Think of leaning over the left thigh as you extend torso over left thigh, crown of head over left foot as you shift your left hip under. Left ribs turn to floor, right ribs turn to ceiling. Belly button faces direction of right foot more than towards floor.

If you feel comfortable, place left hand on shin, ankle or floor & right hand reaches to ceiling. If you lose the sense of ease, return your right arm to hip and lessen reach in left arm. Turn gaze to ceiling only if comfortable in neck.
